Porcelain Veneers and No-Prep Veneers
Do you wish your smile looked completely different, perhaps like your favorite celebrity with a white, perfect row of teeth? Or do you have one or two teeth that stand out against your otherwise beautiful pearly whites?
Your Personality and Your Style Shows in Your Smile
Veneers and no-prep veneers are one way that we can give you a smile makeover or a smile spruce-up that makes your face glow with confidence. Every smile is different! Dr. Katie designs smiles that match who you are as a person and your vision for what is attractive.
How Tooth Veneers Work
Typically made of porcelain, veneers are thin, durable shells that completely cover the front of the tooth (or teeth) along with any imperfections. Because they provide a front cover over the natural tooth structure, they can hide several imperfections and flaws with a single treatment.
- Minor gaps between teeth
- Worn down or short teeth
- Stained or dark-looking teeth
- Asymmetrical teeth or off-center mid-line
- Irregular teeth
- Chipped and damaged teeth
- Slight misalignment
For indirect porcelain veneers, we work closely with a local dental lab to ensure that your smile looks just like you imagined it in your mind. And as an added benefit, we can use Digital Smile Design to help you see and even test-drive your new smile before we order the final veneers to make sure that you love what you see in the mirror.
Direct Composite No-Prep Veneers
Unlike porcelain veneers, our direct composite veneers are a custom work of art designed by Dr. Katie right here in our Katy, TX dental office. Using moldable and flowable composite material – the same we use for fillings and bonding – Dr. Katy can shape and design each tooth to look gorgeous and natural.
One of the main benefits of this type of in-office veneer is that they do not require Dr. Katy to alter the surface of your natural teeth, which means that they are actually reversible! One reason many patients opt not to have traditional veneers is that we must remove a small layer of enamel to make space for the veneer, so they don’t look bulky. When Dr. Katy creates them right here in our dental office, she adds to the existing tooth structure, and they can always be removed later to alter, replace, or eliminate them.
What Does My Bite Have to Do with It?
As with any dental restoration, an even and balanced bite will extend the longevity of your investment. When the teeth each support their fair share of the load caused by chewing, it prevents one or several teeth from hitting hard, which can knock off or chip your new dentistry.
As an additional precaution, a nightguard can protect your new smile from the damage of nighttime clenching or tooth grinding.
