Not All Biofilms Behave The Same

Some areas are more active in producing acid, which directly increases the risk for enamel breakdown and cavities.

This type of biofilm is often influenced by:

  • Frequent exposure to sugars
  • Acidic drinks throughout the day
  • Biofilm sitting undisturbed for extended periods

Over time, this creates an environment where damage can occur more quickly.

Identifying these areas early allows us to guide both home care and lifestyle habits in a more targeted way.

We’ll be sharing more on how diet impacts oral health this month.
