This is My Dental Home

A Welcome That Feels Like Home

Your first encounter with our practice starts before you ever arrive. When you call, you’ll notice right away: we don’t sound like a typical dental office — because we’re not. We listen closely, ask meaningful questions, and take time to understand what brought you here. Whether you’re looking for support with oral health concerns, exploring cosmetic wellness options, or finally prioritizing your long-term dental wellbeing, we’re honored to be your guide.

We call it a reservation, not an appointment — because the time we spend together is sacred. You’ll receive a welcome email with your new patient forms, thoughtfully designed to help us serve you better. Completing them in advance allows us to prepare intentionally, so we can give you the undivided attention you deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We’re always happy to welcome new patients to Katie To, DDS! We provide comprehensive family, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry to patients of all ages in Katy, Richmond, Houston, and surrounding areas.

We’d love to tell you more about us and all the ways we can help your family achieve exceptional oral health. If you’d like to schedule an appointment for a consultation or dental cleaning, please contact our Katy dental office, and a member of our team will be happy to help you get started!

You're not alone! Whether it has been 6 months or 6 years, it's never too late to get back into a healthy routine. We would be more than happy to arrange for you to have a thorough and educational exam appointment. In cases of extreme anxiety, we do have nitrous oxide available for our patients. We often take care of people just like you! The happy testimonials of countless patients that have become our friends are proof that you can be like them too. We're here to help! Please call us when you are ready to take the next step!

Digital x-rays are one of the most important new advances that our profession has seen in quite some time.

Dr. Katie will determine what your x-ray schedule should be based on a review of your caries risk assessment (cavity risk), your dental history, as well as your current state of oral health.

Dental x-rays emit very small amounts of radiation while images are taken, but as always, our highly trained team takes the appropriate measures to ensure you and your family are safe! Finding and treating dental problems at an early stage can save time, money, and often, unnecessary discomfort.

X-rays also help Dr. Katie see decay in between your teeth. A tricky area we can't see with the naked eye. It is important to know that dental x-ray equipment is examined and inspected by the State of Texas on a yearly basis for safety. We are always here to answer any questions you might have.

We also offer a homeopathic that you can take after x-rays.

We do see the children of established patients.  We see children starting from the age of 6 months or when they get their first tooth. The earlier you establish care with a dentist, the less likely your child will have dental anxiety/fear.

If you’re concerned with how your little one will react to their first visit, please feel free to schedule a time to bring them in and take a look around.  No pressure!  They can take a look around and get familiar with how things look and sound!  You can meet the hygienist so they aren’t a stranger when they come in to be seen the first time.

If your child has special needs or if you have other concerns, please speak with one of our Patient Care Specialists.  We are happy to make your little one’s visit as happy as possible!

After you schedule your first visit, you will receive an email that will have some intake forms for you to complete before your visit.  If you prefer, you are welcome to come in a 30 minutes early to your appointment to fill out your information here in our lovely reception area.  We have water, coffee, and hot tea available for your enjoyment!

Please bring your ID and dental benefit card if you have a dental benefit you would like us to file to for your treatment.

We have implanted a paperless system in our office to be more environmentally friendly!  Our paperwork is in digital for on an iPad and it is very user friendly.  If you would prefer a paper copy to fill out, we are happy to print one for you!  Our Patient Care Specialists are ready to help you!

The Day of Your Visit: A Deeper Dental Experience

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel it: this is wellness dentistry in action. Our team greets you by name, welcomes you with a smile, and makes sure you feel truly seen. There’s no rush, no waiting in silence, no confusion about what happens next. Just a calm, confident energy — the kind that allows you to exhale.

Your two-hour visit is designed to go far beyond a typical exam. We take time to understand how your mouth fits into the larger picture of your health. You’ll experience:

  • A gentle, detailed evaluation by one of our wellness dentists, Dr. Katie or Dr. Luu

  • Digital x-rays, pH testing, Nitric Oxide testing, and intraoral imaging

  • Saliva testing, including live phase-contrast microscope viewing and lab submission for deeper insight

  • Airway and sinus assessment using advanced 3D imaging (CBCT, if applicable)

  • A discussion of your bloodwork, posture, oral health history, and lifestyle factors

This is your time. We want you to ask questions, share concerns, and feel safe exploring your options. Our dentists take a personalized, whole-body approach — and that means empowering you with information, not overwhelming you with decisions.

Initial Wellness Exam Technology

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening

Your health is our priority, and that includes early detection. The VELscope is a non-invasive, handheld device that helps us screen for oral cancer and other abnormalities that may not be visible to the naked eye. It uses a safe blue light that allows us to detect changes in oral tissue at an earlier stage, when treatment is most effective. The screening is quick, painless, and can be done right during your routine dental exam—giving you peace of mind and an added layer of protection.

Surgically Clean Air

At Dr. Katie To Center for Wellness Dentistry, your health and safety are our top priority. That’s why we’ve equipped our office with medical-grade Surgically Clean Air® units. These advanced air purifiers don’t just filter — they actively clean and re-energize the air by removing airborne toxins, allergens, bacteria, viruses, and even odors. The result? Fresh, clean air that supports your immune system and keeps your breathing environment as healthy as possible. You’ll feel the difference the moment you walk in.

A Dental Practice Built Around You

At Dr. Katie To Center for Wellness Dentistry, we’ve reimagined what it means to go to the dentist. This is a place where:

  • Your body’s natural healing ability is honored

  • Advanced technology and personalized care come together

  • Every detail — from check-in to check-out — is handled with heart

  • Patients in Katy and beyond come for care that truly transforms
