Many parents are surprised to learn that regular snoring in children is not considered normal healthy sleep and lack of quality sleep can lead to some very unhealthy consequences.

In our wellness dental practice, our focus is caring for the whole child and looking for the root causes behind concerns like snoring, mouth breathing, or restless sleep. These symptoms can sometimes be related to how the jaw and airway are developing.

Healthy breathing through the nose supports proper growth of the face, jaw, and airway. When kids breathe through their mouths during sleep, it can affect sleep quality and influence how the mouth develops over time as well as decrease their ability to concentrate during the day, often resulting in behavior challenges.

If you’ve noticed these signs, you are NOT alone.  Parents ask us about mouth breathing, snoring, and grinding all the time.

Our approach is prevention-focused which means that we carefully monitor your child’s natural development and guide healthy growth whenever possible.

Sometimes the best step is simply keeping an eye on development as your child grows. When needed, we collaborate with our trusted specialists to ensure your child receives the best care.
