Dental Meridians
What Are Dental Meridians?
Dental meridians are based on principles from traditional Chinese medicine, which describe pathways of energy (called meridians) that connect different parts of the body. According to this model, each tooth is associated with specific organs, glands, joints, or body systems.
infections, inflammation, or stress related to a tooth may influence the body areas connected along the same meridian pathway. Likewise, health issues elsewhere in the body may sometimes be reflected in the mouth.
Examples of Potential Connections
• Front teeth — kidneys, bladder, and reproductive system
• Canine teeth — liver and gallbladder
• Premolars — lungs and large intestine
• Molars — stomach, spleen, pancreas, and digestive system
Our Whole-Body Philosophy
We recognize that oral health is closely linked to overall health. In addition to standard dental science, we may consider lifestyle, nutrition, airway health, inflammation, and other factors that influence the mouth and body together.
Our goal is to:
• Identify and address sources of infection or inflammation
• Support optimal healing and function
• Provide personalized, comprehensive care
• Empower you with information about your health
Important Note
Dental meridian concepts are part of complementary and integrative health traditions. They are used alongside — not instead of — evidence-based dental and medical care.
