Dr. Caroline Jones, DMD, biological dentist in Katy, TX

What makes her approach different

  • A root-cause, diagnostic approach to dental concerns, rather than treating symptoms in isolation
  • Biocompatible, conservative treatment — looking for the option that supports the whole body, not just the tooth
  • Safe mercury removal using the PROTECT protocol
  • Experience with full-mouth rehabilitation for both adult and pediatric patients
  • The first dentist in North America certified in the Biofunctional Prosthetic System (B.P.S.)

Background & credentials

Dr. Jones earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Charleston. She has practiced in diverse clinical settings across the country and is licensed in multiple states. Her clinical scope includes advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry — composite bonding, ceramic crowns, veneers, and metal-free prosthetics — alongside surgical procedures and safe mercury removal.

She has also held significant leadership roles, including private practice ownership and serving as a Dental Director overseeing multiple practices and mentoring dozens of doctors.

A history of caring for kids and communities

Dr. Jones has volunteered extensively throughout her career, including with Operation Smile, the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy, and the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). She served in Hue, Vietnam alongside Dr. Katie as part of an all-female dental team, helping over 4,500 children ages 5–12 gain access to dental care — many for the first time.

Bringing your child in

How young is too young? Dr. Jones will happily evaluate children as young as age 1. We can evaluate cheek, lip, and tongue ties, and refer as needed.

What a first visit looks like. Your child's first visit will be a happy visit! A fun cartoon will be playing on the TV so they can watch while leaning back in the chair, and a welcome sign with your child's name on it will greet them when they enter the room. We introduce them to our fun tools and show them the mirror we use to "count their teeth." Dr. Jones will "count" your child's teeth and evaluate their dental health, airway, sleep quality, and bacteria levels in their saliva, among other things. Your child gets to stop by the treasure box for a toy after the visit. We take photos and show them to you, and we take x-rays only if Dr. Jones sees them as necessary.

Cleanings. Sometimes Dr. Jones will take care of the cleaning on the same day as the exam, if time permits. If not, your child will be scheduled with our hygienist for another day.

We go at your child's pace. We always meet the child where they are. If they want to go slower or only do certain parts of the appointment, we can always bring them back when they're ready. We always use kid-friendly language.

If your child's visit points to an airway, mouth-breathing, or jaw-development concern, we also offer a dedicated evaluation and coordinated referral for that. See our mouth-breathing & airway care page.

FAQ

Does Dr. Jones see children, or only adults?
Dr. Jones treats patients of every age, including children, with the same biocompatible, root-cause approach she brings to adult care.

What does "biological" or "biocompatible" dentistry mean for my child?
It means looking for the treatment option that supports your child's overall health, not just the tooth in front of us — including safe, careful material choices and a root-cause approach to any concern we find.

Is Dr. Jones a pediatric dental specialist?
Dr. Jones is a wellness-focused general dentist rather than a pediatric specialist. She brings over three decades of experience and a supportive, individualized approach to caring for children.

What if my child needs more than a routine checkup?
Each patient gets personalized care and a personalized treatment plan. We're ready to help whenever your child needs it, and we have a great team of trusted providers we work with regularly if additional care is needed.
